Privacy Policy
Last updated 8 October 2026
CrewLingo LLC operates CrewLingo, a service that replies by text message when a small business misses a phone call. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.
It's written plainly on purpose. If anything here is unclear, email getcrewlingo@gmail.com and we'll explain it.
Who this covers
Two different groups of people, with different information:
Business owners who sign up
- Phone number, business name, and owner name
- Billing details, which are handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store a card number
- The customer records you enter yourself: names, phone numbers, addresses, and any notes you add
- Photos and videos you send to your customers from the app
- Numbers you ask CrewLingo to leave alone (family, suppliers), with the name you gave them. If you choose them from your phone's contacts, the app reads your contacts on the phone only to show you the list; only the people you tick are sent to us, and nothing else from your address book is.
People who call or text a CrewLingo business
- The phone number that called or texted
- The time of the call, and whether it was answered
- The content of text messages exchanged with that business
- Any photos or videos sent by text
- Whether the caller asked to read in Spanish
Why we hold it
Only to run the service:
- To send a reply when a call is missed
- To show the business owner their own conversations
- To translate messages so each person reads in their own language (the app explains this and asks the business owner before it starts, and translation can be turned off in Settings)
- To take payment for the subscription
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use message content to advertise anything to anyone.
Who else handles it
Running this service means some information passes through other companies. These are all of them:
- Twilio — carries the calls and text messages. Message content and phone numbers pass through Twilio in order to be delivered.
- Anthropic — translates message text between English and Spanish. The text of a message is sent for translation. Anthropic does not use it to train models.
- Railway — hosts the service and stores the database in the United States.
- Netlify — serves the website and the app.
- Stripe — handles subscription payments. Card details go directly to Stripe and never reach us.
These companies act only on our behalf to run the service. None of them may use the information for their own purposes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
How long we keep it
- Messages and customer records — for as long as the business has an account, and for a short period afterwards in case they come back or ask for a copy.
- Photos and videos — deleted automatically after one year, along with any video link.
- Login codes — expire within minutes.
- Sign-in sessions — expire after 90 days without use, or straight away when you sign out.
What you can ask for
Whoever you are, you can email getcrewlingo@gmail.com and ask us to:
- Tell you what we hold about you
- Send you a copy of it
- Correct it
- Delete it
If you're a business owner, your customer list is yours. Ask at any time, during or after your subscription, and we'll send you everything — your customers, their numbers, and your message history.
We'll respond within 30 days, and usually much faster.
Deleting your CrewLingo account
CrewLingo, by CrewLingo LLC. A business owner can delete their account in either of two ways:
- In the app: Settings → Delete my account, then type your business name to confirm.
- By email: write to getcrewlingo@gmail.com from the number or address on the account and ask us to delete it. We'll confirm once it's done.
Deleting the account removes your business details, your customer list, every message, photo and video from CrewLingo straight away, and cancels your subscription so you aren't charged again. Your CrewLingo number stops answering. This can't be undone, so ask for a copy first if you want one. Payment records stay with Stripe, our payment processor, as the law requires.
Text messages (SMS)
CrewLingo sends two kinds of text message:
- Account texts to business owners: sign-in codes, one welcome text with a link to finish setting up, and account notices. Sent only to an owner who enters their own mobile number on the sign-up form and ticks the box agreeing to receive them. No marketing.
- Replies to people who call a business that uses CrewLingo: one automatic text after a missed call, then the conversation the caller chooses to have with that business.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts; you will get one message confirming you have been unsubscribed. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at getcrewlingo@gmail.com or (617) 545-7141. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. How consent is collected is described in full at getcrewlingo.com/sms-consent.html.
Security
Data is stored in the United States and sent over encrypted connections. Signing in uses a code texted to your phone rather than a password. No system is perfectly secure, and we won't claim otherwise — but we don't hold card numbers, and we don't keep anything we don't need.
Children
CrewLingo is for businesses. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so on this page and update the date at the top.

Terms of Service
Last updated 6 October 2026
What the service does
CrewLingo sends an automatic text message when a call to your business goes unanswered, and lets you reply from a web app. Messages are translated between English and Spanish.
It does not answer the phone, book jobs on your behalf, or send anything without a call or message coming in first.
What it costs
$29 per month for your first three months, then $49 per month, after a 7-day free trial. Your card is required to start the trial and is charged when the trial ends, unless you cancel first. You can cancel at any time by signing in at getcrewlingo.com and opening Settings. Billing is handled there, not in the iPhone or Android app. Cancelling stops the next charge, and the service runs until the end of the period you've paid for.
We don't give partial refunds for time already used, but if something has gone wrong, email us and we'll sort it out.
Your responsibilities
- Use it for your own business, with people who contact you
- Don't use it to send marketing, bulk messages, or anything to people who haven't contacted you first — this breaks carrier rules and would get the service shut down for everyone
- Keep the auto-text honest. You can edit its wording; you can't use it to say something untrue
- Follow the law where you operate
What we're responsible for
We'll do our best to keep the service running and to fix things quickly when they break. But this depends on phone carriers, Twilio, and the internet, and none of those are ours to guarantee.
We can't promise every text will be delivered, or delivered instantly. Carriers filter messages for reasons outside our control.
To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you've paid us in the previous three months.
Your data
Your customer list and your message history are yours. Ask any time and we'll send you a copy. If you cancel, we won't hold your business over your head — ask and it's yours.
Ending it
You can cancel at any time. We can suspend an account that's being used to send unsolicited messages or to break carrier rules, because that puts every other customer at risk — we'll tell you why if we do.
Changes
If these terms change materially, we'll update this page and the date. If you keep using the service afterwards, that's acceptance.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
